Meet Dr. David Dare
One of my greatest joys is relieving people of pain and restoring function so they can get back to doing what they love.
Dr. Dare began his academic career at Boston College, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia. Dr. Dare then completed his surgical internship at Cornell University/New-York Presbyterian Hospital. He completed his residency at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), ranked by US News and World Report as the #1 orthopedic hospital in the nation. During his training, he was elected as an Emerging Leader for the American Orthopedic Association. Additionally, he received the Thomas Wickiewicz MD resident research grant for his work on shoulder instability. Dr. Dare also received the chief resident award given by the nurses and operating room staff to the graduating resident who best exemplified professionalism, compassion and interdisciplinary collaboration for patient care. As a resident, Dr. Dare received supplemental training in shoulder surgery, which included time spent in France with leading shoulder surgeons Gilles Walch and Pascal Boileau. After his residency training, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery, where he served as assistant team physician for the New York Giants and Iona College.

Research Articles & Contributions
Dr. Dare has authored over 20 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters and has given multiple podium and poster presentations at national and international conferences. He currently serves as a journal reviewer for the Hospital of Special Surgery Journal and The American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Medical Association (AMA).
